Skullcandy, Inc. (SKUL) was an American company that designed and distributed headphones, earphones, hands-free devices, audio backpacks, MP3 players, and other audio accessories. The company was founded in 2003 and was headquartered in Park City, Utah.
Skullcandy's products were targeted primarily at the youth market and action sports enthusiasts. The company's products were sold through a variety of channels, including retailers, distributors, and online.
In August 2016, Skullcandy was acquired by Incipio, LLC, a global consumer technology solutions platform. Following the acquisition, Skullcandy became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Incipio.
In December 2019, Incipio announced that it was selling Skullcandy to Mill Road Capital, a private equity firm, for $99.9 million. The transaction was completed in January 2020, and Skullcandy became a privately-held company once again.
As of February 2023, there have been no recent public announcements or financial reports from Skullcandy.
