Northwest Natural Holding Co (NWN) is a publicly traded natural gas utility holding company headquartered in Portland, Oregon. It was founded in 1859 and was formerly known as Northwest Natural Gas Company. NWN serves more than 2 million people in over 140 communities in Oregon, Washington, and California. The company operates through two segments: Local Gas Distribution and Gas Storage.
The Local Gas Distribution segment delivers natural gas to residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Oregon and southwest Washington. It also provides meter reading, billing and payment processing, and customer service functions, as well as engages in pipeline and other infrastructure construction activities.
The Gas Storage segment provides underground natural gas storage services to interstate and intrastate customers in Oregon and California. It operates two natural gas storage facilities with a combined working gas capacity of approximately 31 billion cubic feet.
Northwest Natural Holding Co is committed to sustainability and reducing its environmental footprint. The company has set a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its operations by 30% by 2035 and by 80% by 2050. It has also invested in renewable natural gas production facilities and offers energy efficiency programs to customers.
