It also engages in the gathering, processing, transportation, fractionation, storage, and marketing of natural gas liquids, bolstering its role in the energy supply chain. As of December 31, 2021, Marathon Petroleum Corporation operated 7,159 brand jobber outlets across 37 states, the District of Columbia, and Mexico, all managed by independent entrepreneurs.
