Restaurant Group, Inc. (IRG) was a publicly-traded company that owned
and operated a portfolio of restaurant brands, including Joe's Crab
Shack and Brick House Tavern + Tap. The company was founded in 2004
and was headquartered in Houston, Texas.
Joe's Crab Shack was a
casual dining seafood restaurant chain with locations across the
United States. The chain was known for its crab buckets and
beach-themed atmosphere. Brick House Tavern + Tap was a restaurant
concept that offered high-quality food, craft beer, and live music in
a relaxed and comfortable environment.
In 2017, IRG filed for
Chapter 11 bankruptcy and closed all of its Joe's Crab Shack
locations. The company then focused its efforts on the Brick House
Tavern + Tap brand, but continued to struggle financially. In 2019,
IRG announced that it had agreed to be acquired by Kelly Companies, an
affiliate of Landry's, Inc. for $2.40 per share in cash. The
