FTEK Profile
Fuel Tech, Inc. specializes in providing advanced solutions for boiler optimization, efficiency enhancement, and air pollution control to a global clientele of utility and industrial customers. Operating through two distinct segments, namely Air Pollution Control Technology and FUEL CHEM Technology, the company offers a wide array of technologies designed to mitigate environmental impacts and improve operational performance.
The Air Pollution Control Technology segment focuses on reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from various stationary combustion sources such as boilers, incinerators, and furnaces. This includes the deployment of low and ultra-low NOx burners, over-fire air systems, selective non-catalytic reduction systems like NOxOUT and HERT, as well as selective catalytic reduction systems utilizing ammonia injection and graduated straightening grid technologies. Additional offerings include ESP Processes and Services, ULTRA technology for enhanced emission control, and flue gas conditioning systems, alongside burner systems to optimize combustion efficiency.
Fuel Tech's FUEL CHEM Technology segment delivers specialized programs aimed at enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and environmental compliance of combustion units. This involves managing issues such as slagging, fouling, corrosion, opacity, acid plume formation, and the generation of pollutants like sulfur trioxide, ammonium bisulfate, particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, and carbon dioxide. The segment utilizes TIFI targeted in-furnace injection technology to apply chemical additives within furnaces, benefiting clients across electric utility, industrial, pulp and paper, waste-to-energy, and university and district heating sectors.
Established in 1987 and headquartered in Warrenville, Illinois, Fuel Tech, Inc. leverages decades of expertise to address complex environmental challenges and regulatory requirements worldwide. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, the company continues to advance its technologies to meet evolving industry standards and customer needs in the realm of clean energy and emissions reduction.
