CUT Profile
The
MSCI Global Timber Invesco ETF (CUT) is an exchange-traded fund that
tracks the performance of the MSCI ACWI IMI Timber Select Capped
Index. The index is designed to measure the performance of companies
engaged in the ownership, management or upstream supply chain of
forests and timberlands. The ETF provides investors with exposure to a
diversified basket of global timber companies, including those
involved in logging, lumber production, and wood products.
Launched in 2007, the ETF has more thaan $1 billion in assets under
management and is managed by Invesco. It has an expense ratio of 0.55%
and is traded on the NYSE Arca exchange. The fund's top holdings
include West Fraser Timber, Rayonier, Weyerhaeuser, and International
Paper, among others.
Investors may consider the CUT ETF as a
way to gain exposure to the timber industry, which has historically
been a stable investment due to the long-term nature of timber
harvesting and demand for wood products. Additionally, timber
investments are often viewed as a hedge against inflation and have
been shown to have low correlation with other asset classes. However,
it's important to note that like any investment, the CUT ETF comes
with its own set of risks, including market volatility and changes in
