Vanguard Short-Term Bond ETF (BSV) seeks to track the performance of
the Bloomberg Barclays U.S. 1-5 Year Government/Credit Float Adjusted
Index. This index includes investment-grade bonds issued by the U.S.
Treasury, government agencies, and corporations with maturities
between one and five years. The fund invests at least 80% of its
assets in bonds in the index, with the goal of providing investors
with current income while preserving capital and maintaining a low
level of interest rate risk.
As of September 30, 2021, BSV had
a total net asset value of approximately $28.8 billion and an expense
ratio of 0.05%. The fund has a distribution yield of 0.57%, and its
holdings are primarily invested in U.S. Treasury bonds and
investment-grade corporate bonds. The average duration of the fund's
portfolio is 2.6 years, indicating relatively low interest rate risk.
