Brew Alliance, Inc. is an American brewing company based in Portland,
Oregon. It was formed in 2008 by the merger of Widmer Brothers Brewery
and Redhook Ale Brewery. The company produces and markets a portfolio
of craft beers, including the Widmer Brothers, Kona Brewing Company,
Redhook Ale Brewery, Omission Beer, and Square Mile Cider Company
brands.
In August 2019, Anheuser-Busch InBev announced plans to
acquire the remaining shares of Craft Brew Alliance that it did not
already own, after having previously held a 31.2% stake in the
company. However, the deal was terminated in March 2020 after failing
to secure the necessary two-thirds vote of approval from the company's
minority shareholders.
Craft Brew Alliance has faced some
challenges in recent years, with declining sales and financial losses.
In response, the company has implemented a strategic plan focused on
improving efficiencies, reducing costs, and investing in marketing and
innovation. In 2020, the company announced a partnership with Pabst
Brewing Company, in which Pabst will become the exclusive sales and
